Polished Concrete
Polished concrete flooring is simply a concrete floor that has been ground with aggressive to progressively finer grinding diamonds from 30 grit to 3,000 grit. As the number on the grits increases, so does surface shine and reflection, a polished concrete floor reflection starts about 400 grit, , although other polishing grits range finer from 800 to 1,500 as high as 3,000 which will be smoother and more reflective than one with a lower grit finish. The process is similar to sanding granite with progressively finer grinding tools until you have a mirror finish. At different point during the process filing of holes and cracks in the concrete will be preformed. Also a Lithium densifier will be applied. At the completion stage a guard will be applied to the polished concrete to help protect and keep the concrete clean.
Grind & Seal
We diamond grind your existing concrete floor to prep and clean the surface. Grinding through the top layer to expose a clean light aggregate. Which involves aggress diamond grits 30 grit and 80 grit. We then will stain or dye the concrete if a color other than natural is desired. Once the right look and color hue is accomplished, we can seal the surface with everything from Solvent based poly urethanes, clear epoxies, to water based acrylic sealers. Depending on your budget and finish expatiations. The end product leaves you a floor that looks like a concrete polish. But is at a more competitive price. Grind & Seal on many applications is more durable and easier to clean than polished concrete.
